While the Encore GX falls into the subcompact crossover category, the surprisingly spacious SUV boasts ample interior space and exceptional versatility thanks to over 50 cubic feet of cargo volume. Exterior upgrades include a hands-free powered liftgate, a panoramic power moonroof, and a keyless entry keypad. All trims also come with LED Daytime Running Lamps with “Intelabeam,” a feature that automatically turns the Encore GX’s high beams on and off according to surrounding traffic. Buick offers the new Encore GX in three trim levels – Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir.

The Rare Combination of Power and Fuel Economy

Preferred models come with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine which puts out as much as 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque @ 2500 rpm. Sport Touring and Avenir trims get a more powerful 1.3-liter, three-cylinder, 155-horsepower plant. Front-wheel drive linked to a continuously variable automatic transmission comes standard on all trims, as well. EPA fuel economy estimates for the Encore GX come in at an impressive 30 MPG for city driving, and 31 MPG on the highway.

Quiet, Comfortable, and Plenty of Room

Standard or available creature comforts found on the new Buick Encore GX include factory-installed satellite radio, an 8-way power driver seat, and a 6-way power fold-flat front passenger seat. All trims also come standard with Buick’s Active Noise Cancellation feature, Keyless Open and Start, and driver and front passenger illuminated vanity mirrors. Avenir trims add Remote Start, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, heated front seats, and a variety of other top-of-the-line features.

Ready for Every Adventure

The Encore GX comes loaded with the latest technologies, such as Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability for compatible phones, an 8-inch, color infotainment touchscreen display, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Buick’s industry-leading infotainment system also features seamless Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and music streaming, Voice-Command Pass Through, and two USB ports ( one USB Type-A and one USB Type-C), located in the front of the center console.

Safety Comes Standard

The Buick Driver Confidence package – standard on all models – makes the new Encore GX one of the safest vehicles on the road today. A high-resolution digital rear camera makes getting into tight spots a breeze.

The Encore GX’s full suite of airbags includes frontal and knee for the driver and front passenger, seat-mounted side-impact airbags for all outboard seating positions, and head-curtain airbags for front and rear outboard seating positions.

The Passenger Sensing System automatically switches the front passenger seat frontal and knee airbags on or off as needed. Standard driver-assist technologies found on the new Encore GX include Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert.
