STOP SQUEAKING WIPER BLADES
Winter can take a toll on your wiper blades and their performance. If you find that your wiper blades have become squeaky due to dust, snow, and ice buildup, try using these tips to help save your wiper blades for one more season.
1. Clean the Buildup
Using a hot towel and rubbing alcohol, wipe your wiper blades. Be sure to clean the hinged part of your wiper blades as well.
2. Clean the Windshield Glass
Spray your windshield with a layer of ammonia-free glass cleaner. Cleaners that contain Ammonia can damage your windshield’s tint, so make sure you double check your cleaner before using it. If you don’t have window cleaner, try using undiluted white vinegar.
3. Clean the Extra Dirt
Use baking soda on a damp paper towel to get a stronger clean.
4. Adjust the Blades
Sometimes the reason your wiper blades are squeaking could be because the wiper blades are stiff and are not working in the right direction. Try twisting the rubber blades back and forth to help reposition and loosen the blades to work properly.
If these tips have not helped the performance of your wiper blades, you may need to replace your wiper blades. Schedule an appointment with a certified mechanic at Kevin Grover Buick GMC in Wagoner, OK and we can replace your wiper blades for you.
